When I think back to the times that I would go to the library as a child, I think of Rainbow Magic. This is a book series about two friends who meet different kinds of magical fairies and go through adventures and solve problems with them. They bring back a lot of memories and they were so fun to read. Each book had a different fairy and getting to read about her personality and what she could do was always so fun. It makes me so nostalgic to see pictures of the books because I used to love them so much. There’s are more than 40 books of the magic fairies and each have a beautiful cover. I used to love going to the library at my school and going all the way to the back corner where these books were organized. Always in the fiction section where the author last name was. I would look at each cover and pick whichever one I thought was the prettiest. After that I’d take it to the front and check it out from our librarian. I have so many memories of reading those books, I would even collect a few. The covers of these books were always in bright colors and that’s what made me attracted to them even more. There is a fairy on each cover with her magic type. As I look at these books now I’m so proud to see how they’ve gotten so diverse and include types of fairies people usually don’t make stories about. It makes me so happy to see that the books I love haven’t stopped and that instead they are providing little girls and boys with acceptance. I think this is a great thing and it really makes me happy to see these covers that don’t shy away from including everyone. Something else I loved about these books was the fact that they included different themes but always kept the one of how important friendship is and how it is okay to rely on either people.
