Free Choice: Since I can write about whatever is on my mind, I will actually be writing about Drew Philips and Enya Umanzor. These two influencers have a podcast together called Emergency Intercom and it is actually the most funniest podcast I have ever heard. These two started off on vine and became very popular viners during that era in the early 2010s. After that they went to youtube and started making videos after moving in together at the age of 18. To start off I just have to say that Enya is the literal reason why trends start and is never credited for it. Dying your hair bright colors, shaving your eyebrows, indie art fashion, having an aesthetic lifestyle, and even recently the start of catholic girl fashion was created and influenced by her. While there is proof that she time and time again starts these trends, many other “influencers” try to take credit. Not only being a trend setter, but she is climbing her way into the set of high fashion like Miu Miu and Heaven by Marc Jacobs. Drew Philips posts comedy videos onto his youtube with all his friends and creates fake personas. Together they make some of the funniest youtube videos I have ever seen. While their comedy isn’t for everyone, it is guaranteed to make me laugh so hard. I’m only talking about these people because listening to their podcast makes me laugh and puts me in such a better mood. Before coming to this class I was feeling a lot of anxiety and I started to feel sick. Something I learned to do when I started feeling like this is to listen to something funny so I can make myself laugh and try to generate some of those happy signals in my brain. I’m still listening to it now and it really does help!
